The 1978 Porsche 911SC rebelled against the idea that air-cooled rear-engine design should be rendered obsolete. It’s engineering nearly parallels its predecessor—the Carrera 3.0—save for some compression and tuning changes that upped its horsepower and performance.
As you can tell by our picture, our 1978 Porsche 911 SC is scant more than a chassis. This makes it one of our many project cars here at SGL Motors. We’ve dubbed this particular one the ‘fixie.’ The plan is to complete a full restoration. Problem is: parts for this particular model are scarce. We’ll need to locate a ‘scrapped’ model and rip originals from it.
The summer blue paint job is not stock nor original, however, as that was a custom choice made a year prior.
